Orphan

Note to self: If wife tells you that the 9-year old orphan you just adopted could possibly be a tiny bit evil as hell, believe her.

Orphan was a nice change of pace from the completely predictable horror/thrillers of late. What this movie lacked in unpredictability, it made up for with suspense. I know because I was personally suspended and gritting my teeth several times throughout the movie. The expected twist took an unexpected twist. Good job, Mr. David Leslie Johnson Movie Screenplay Writer Guy. Even the scary music “punch” that always makes you jump when the bad guy / monster / evil orphan pops out tries to throw you off. So much in fact that I got wise to it. You can’t fool me Mr. Scary Music Composer Guy John Ottman!

Isabelle Fuhrman, the young actress who plays Esther, was amazingly creepy. I think we’ll be seeing more of her in the future. Isabelle Fuhrman, not Esther. We don’t want to see more of Esther. Bad Esther. Baaaad. Go away. Please?

I should really write more here, but I think I’m going to go have a beer instead.  All work and no play make Jay a something something.

[stole that from The Simpsons]

[who stole that from The Shining]

[sorta]

Go see movie. Jay like.

Thanks. I decided a few years ago that I hated horror movies, because they were very little horror…and even less movie.

Thank you Jay Like Movies writer!
