About
“The only thing worse than watching a bad movie is being in one.”
- Elvis Presley

I don’t remember much that happened before I was born. I’ve always just naturally assumed that the world revolved around me. To borrow a phrase from Groucho Marx, I was born at a very early age. I was born in Dallas and moved to Arkansas when I was very young. I lived in Arkansas for about eleven years. In that time, I made many friends and had many adventures. My childhood was just like any other red-blooded American boy’s. I played little league baseball, I was very active in the church, and I invented the cell phone. Then one day my Father asked me, “Son, if you could live anywhere in the country where it would be”? I, of course, said California. So we picked up and moved back to Texas. And I’ve been here ever since.
If memory serves me correctly, and it usually doesn’t, I began to explore my creative side when I joined the band in junior high. I picked up the trumpet for the first time at age twelve and rarely put it down for six years. It made sleeping a bit awkward, but other than that it worked pretty well. I was always told that, if I would just apply myself, I could really go places playing the trumpet. Unfortunately applying myself seemed too much like work and that was not for me.
I am extremely thankful that my parents were kind enough to purchase that trumpet for me. Not only did it give me an excuse to show off, it gave me a great appreciation for music which grew as the years flew recklessly by and my hair fell hopelessly out. Eventually I started playing guitar and writing songs. Then I met my wife, Robyn. Actually she wasn’t my wife when I met her, but I wore her down with my mad wooing skills. I also have a lot of great friends. Too many to mention here, but I am lucky to know them all. In my sometimes-humble opinion, music is the tie that binds. Music and beer.
Also, I like movies.
